Accounts & Audit Assistant Manager
We are a working with a respected and growing firm of Chartered Accountants based in York. Known for an approachable, partner-led service and strong client relationships, they combine technical expertise with a personal touch. As an Audit and Accounts Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in the delivery of high-quality audit and accounting services to clients. Working closely with a hands-on and supportive partner group, you will manage and mentor junior staff, plan and lead audits, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, lead, and review audit assignments from planning through to completion
- Prepare and review statutory accounts for a varied client base
- Liaise directly with clients to build strong working relationships
- Support and train junior team members
- Work closely with the partner group on strategic client service and development
- Ensure work is delivered on time and within budget

About You:
- ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in audit and accounts within a UK practice environment
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of UK accounting and audit standards
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive and team-focused approach
