An international financial services organisation is looking for a hands-on data leader to shape and drive its data strategy across multiple global regions. The role is based in London and will focus on strengthening adoption of enterprise-wide data platforms, improving analytics capability, and unlocking value from diverse and complex datasets.
This position will support a wide variety of business areas and requires close collaboration with colleagues across the UK, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to embedded data specialists, helping them deliver solutions aligned to business needs.
- Lead the rollout and ongoing enhancement of core data products and platforms.
- Work with operational and analytical teams to capture requirements and identify opportunities to create value from data.
- Build strong partnerships with senior stakeholders, positioning data as a key enabler of strategy.
- Define and communicate the data roadmap across the business.
- Monitor team capabilities, highlighting skills gaps and shaping plans to address them.
- Ensure delivery remains agile and outcomes-focused, making the most of available resources and technology.
Skills & Experience
- Strong background in data-centric roles, such as engineering, data science, analytics, or data product management.
- Proficiency with modern data tools and technologies (e.g. Python, SQL, Spark, dbt, APIs).
- Demonstrated success in senior or client-facing roles, delivering impactful data products and solutions.
- Knowledge of analytics, data modelling, architecture, and schema design.
- Experience building sophisticated dashboards using leading BI tools.
What will make you stand out
- Deep expertise with advanced data platforms (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, Palantir).
- Familiarity with Python-based or low-code frameworks for building data-driven applications.
- Background in financial services or the ability to quickly understand industry-specific challenges.
This role is London-based and offered on a hybrid model, with regular time in the office (around three days per week).
