We’re working with a successful SME in the construction industry who are looking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager. This is a broad and hands-on role with responsibility for day-to-day financial management, reporting, and supporting the leadership team with decision-making.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee bookkeeping, sales and purchase ledger, reconciliations, and payment runs
- Manage bank postings, reconciliations, and online banking
- Preparation of accruals, prepayments, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Project costing and analysis to support operational teams
- Preparation of accurate and timely management accounts
- Credit control and VAT returns, including partial exemption
- Liaise with external accountants and HMRC to ensure compliance
- Provide financial insight to senior management and contribute to business planning
What we’re looking for
- AAT Qualified or part-qualified accountant
- Experience working SME businesses
- Strong background in the construction sector, with understanding of industry processes and compliance
- Proficient in Xero and Excel
- A hands-on manager able to build strong relationships across the business
- Organised, dependable, and commercially minded
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000
