    Working for this well established London Market Insurer and Lloyd’s Syndicate, you will be the lead on Property Claims on this expanding UK Retail Portfolio, taking ownership of the larger and more complex losses, and managing the performance of the TPAs.

    Experience handling UK Property claims in excess of £100,000 is required, along with a good understanding of Consumer Duty and working with TPAs.

    This opening is a great opportunity for someone wanting to take a step up as a Senior Underwriter dealing with a varied caseload of policies across a particular sector.

    As Senior Underwriter, you will be working alongside a team experienced professionals in this unique and rewarding role. You will be predominantly focusing on a combined product as well as other areas such as PI & D&O across a niche sector with premiums ranging from £5k up to £1million. This is a great opportunity for someone really wanting to deal with more complex renewal cases. There will be a desire to visit brokers across the region so if you are looking for something client facing then this may just be the role for you.

    The team is well established and the organisation promotes within so there will be opportunities to further progress with your career as they take their next step in growth. You will be responsible for your own pen providing excellent service to key stakeholders/brokers handling renewals, mid-term adjustments and referrals.

    In return you will receive a competitive salary with a potential bonus of up to 25% as well as great benefits. You will also be supported in your insurance exams if you wish to do. The position will be based at their Leeds office which will offer hybrid working with 2 days from home.

    This is a senior-level opportunity within a major insurer’s Birmingham office, focusing on profitable growth across a broad UK mid-market portfolio.     The Role
     
    This is a market-facing role, ideally suited to an underwriter who enjoys broker engagement and the pace of winning and retaining business. The focus is on UK property accounts within the mid-market space, with additional exposure to casualty and package lines as required. You’ll be underwriting a mix of new and existing business, typically within the £100K premium range, though you’ll also handle larger and more complex UK risks, including some in the £4–5M premium bracket. The business recently gained access to a significant market facility, which is opening the door to new pipeline and more substantial cases. You’ll have a clearly defined framework and genuine autonomy to make underwriting decisions that drive profitable growth.

    What We’re Looking For
     
    You’ll ideally have 10+ years of commercial underwriting experience, with a strong focus on either Liability, Property or as a package across the mid-market space. This role will suit someone who is confident operating independently, commercially minded, and comfortable managing broker relationships at a senior level. Experience with larger and more complex UK risks is highly desirable.

    Renewals Underwriter – Financial Lines
    Location: Leeds (Hybrid)
    Salary: Up to £36,000 + 20% Bonus
