    IPS Group are currently recruiting for a confident, commercially minded Property and Casualty Underwriter to join a well-established regional team based in Bristol focusing on both new and existing business at mid-market level.

    This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to get stuck into a varied portfolio that includes mid-market and monoline Casualty, Excess of Loss, and Commercial Combined business. There’s a strong Casualty bias, but you’ll also get some exposure to Property so if you like a bit of variety, this could be a great fit.

    You’ll be part of a regional Casualty team currently writing around £120m GWP, with plans to grow to £130m. Average premiums sit around £30k, and there’s a healthy mix of new and existing business.   The role offers a flexible weighting on new or existing business depending on your strengths. You’ll also have the chance to get involved in portfolio underwriting and help shape strategy.

    A big part of the role involves working on large DUA schemes, so if you’ve got experience with delegated authority or a keen interest in that space, you’ll be right at home. We’re looking for someone who enjoys trading and building strong broker relationships.  Office days are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and every other Wednesday.

    You’ll be underwriting Contractors Combined DUA facilities and open market business across a broad range of sectors, with plenty of autonomy to use your expertise and make an impact.     To be considered you must have solid experience underwriting commercial lines it will also be advantageous to have exposure to Contractors Combined.

    A highly regarded and sought-after Lloyd’s market syndicate is seeking a Senior Underwriter to join its high-performing Professional Indemnity (PI) team. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial individual to join a portfolio that has consistently outperformed the Lloyd’s market for over two decades. With the PI portfolio experiencing significant growth and targeting a further 15% expansion in 2026, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving new business and shaping the future of the portfolio.

    The role focuses primarily on open market business, with 45% of the book written on a delegated authority basis—most of it prior submit basis. The team leads the vast majority of the portfolio, which is globally diversified: UK,US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and LATAM. The underwriting strategy is niche-driven, and growth will continue only in areas where the business has deep expertise and a proven track record inc specialist engineers legal, Lloyd’s brokers, and misc.

    The business is highly client-centric. The ideal candidate will is a Underwriter or broker with 5–10 years of actual PI underwriting experience, preferably from a syndicate background, with exposure to specialist engineering risks and broader professions. Experience in the US market would be advantageous although not essential.
