We are seeking a Senior Financial Institutions Underwriter to join a leading London wholesale insurer looking to grow its established international portfolio. This portfolio has been running successfully for over 20 years, and the business is looking for a high-profile underwriter to broaden the appetite, educate brokers, and influence them to present a wider range of risks across territories, risk sizes, and types. This is a strategic Underwriting role where your technical expertise and credibility will directly impact the portfolio’s growth and diversification.

The successful candidate will be the face of the portfolio, working closely with capacity providers, brokers, and the Managing Director. This role requires someone with gravitas and experience in writing a broad FI portfolio, able to achieve double-digit growth over time while respecting the portfolio’s well-established relationships and specialist, niche nature. You will identify cross-selling opportunities with brokers, manage key stakeholder relationships, and, over time, have the opportunity to co-lead the division.

This is a rare opportunity where your influence and network will play a key role in shaping the next stage of international growth, building on strong foundations and clear ambitions. If you are ambitious, commercially minded, and ready to drive the strategic expansion of a long-established portfolio, this role offers significant responsibility and the chance to make a tangible impact on its future direction.
