Tax Semi Senior
An established independent firm of accountants in central Doncaster is looking to recruit a Personal Tax Semi Senior. The practice has a varied client base and offers a friendly, professional working environment where building strong client relationships is an important part of the service.
This is a varied position combining personal tax compliance, client support and some payroll responsibilities. The successful candidate will be a key point of contact for clients, dealing with a broad range of queries and working closely with colleagues across the practice to ensure clients receive a responsive and efficient service.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, preparing and submitting self-assessment tax returns.
- Deal with personal tax queries and provide practical advice on routine tax matters.
- Maintain regular contact with clients, building effective working relationships.
- Prepare and process payroll for a selection of clients, including associated submissions and queries.
- Act as a point of contact for general client enquiries, resolving matters directly or referring them to the appropriate colleague.
- Liaise with the accounts team on matters affecting clients’ tax affairs.
- Monitor deadlines and ensure personal tax compliance work is completed accurately and on time.
Candidate profile
- Previous experience in personal tax within an accountancy practice.
- ATT Studier or qualified by experience, with a good working knowledge of personal tax compliance.
- Strong communication skills and a client focused approach.
- Comfortable handling a variety of client queries and recognising when specialist input is required.
- Well organised, with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritise work.
- Some exposure to corporate tax would be beneficiaal but not essential.
Salary and benefits
- Salary circa £30,000 – £32,000 or potentially more for a suitably experienced candidate.
- Full-time, office-based position in central Doncaster.
