We are working with a well-regarded broker on an Account Executive opportunity based in Hertfordshire, inheriting a long-standing and high-quality book of circa £450k–£500k income that has been managed by the same individual for around 30 years. The portfolio sits within general commercial insurance at the larger end of the SME space, with the majority of clients requiring a full advisory-led renewal process and a consultative approach.
This role has arisen due to retirement, and there will be a structured and supportive transition in place, with the outgoing Account Executive remaining involved for approximately 12 months in an ambassadorial capacity to support introductions, attend key meetings, and help transfer relationships. As a result, this represents a rare opportunity to take on a stable and well-developed book with genuine continuity and minimal disruption to clients.
The business is open to two profiles: either a relationship-led Account Executive focused on retaining and developing an existing portfolio, or a more commercially driven individual who can use the book as a platform to grow further through new business activity. Given the tenure of the incumbent and the nature of the client relationships, success in this role will rely heavily on credibility, stakeholder management, and the ability to quickly build trust with long-standing clients.
