Recoveries Motor Claims Handler
An excellent opportunity for a Motor Recoveries Handler to join a specialist insurance services organisation that manages claims on behalf of a leading insurer.
The Role:
You will be responsible for managing the recovery of hire, repair, and uninsured loss costs from third-party insurers and solicitors. The position involves sending payment packs, negotiating settlement figures, reviewing liability evidence (such as witness statements and CCTV), and ensuring recoveries are processed efficiently.
You’ll handle incoming third-party enquiries, manage the team mailbox, work towards monthly recovery targets whilst contributing directly to the team’s overall success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing recovery and subrogated claims from start to settlement.
- Pursuing uninsured losses, hire, and repair costs from third-party insurers.
- Assessing liability and negotiating settlements within authority levels.
- Reviewing evidence such as reports, statements, and CCTV.
- Maintaining accurate reserves and processing payments efficiently.
- Liaising with various stakeholders such as solicitors, engineers, and repairers where required.
About You:
You’ll have solid knowledge of motor claims & credit hire along with experience using various systems. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure. A proactive approach, attention to detail, and the drive to meet targets will help you thrive in this role. Experience handling motor recoveries or third-party motor claims within a delegated authority or insurer environment would be highly advantageous.
