Professional Indemnity Solicitor
A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Professional Risks lawyer to join its growing team at Legal Director level. This is a rare opportunity to take on a strategic leadership role within a Legal 500-ranked practice and help drive the continued growth of a highly successful professional risks offering.
Role Overview
The role combines strategic leadership, business development and high-quality legal work, with a particular focus on construction-related professional liability, public liability, property damage and coverage disputes. Working closely with insurers, businesses and professionals, you will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the department while managing a complex and varied caseload.
This position offers the opportunity to influence firm-wide strategy, develop new business opportunities, strengthen key client relationships and mentor the next generation of specialist insurance lawyers.
Candidate Profile / Experience Needed
Applications are invited from senior lawyers with substantial experience in professional risks, insurance litigation or liability disputes, either currently operating at Legal Director level or ready to step into such a position.
You should be able to demonstrate:
- Significant experience defending liability claims, particularly within a construction-related context
- Strong expertise advising on policy coverage issues and insurance disputes
- A deep understanding of the relationship between legal practice and liability insurance
- A proven track record of managing complex and high-value claims
- Strong leadership and supervisory experience
- Exceptional client relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
- A successful history of business development and generating new instructions
- Commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to strategic growth initiatives
- Excellent communication, drafting and case management skills
- Experience working with insurers, professional indemnity claims, construction professionals, contractors or other specialist liability risks would be highly advantageous.
