Paralegal Claims Handler
Paralegal Clams Handler – 9 month Contract Role – £30000
Our client is an established international insurance company. They are looking for a paralegal claims handler to join the team on a contract basis for 9 months to handle a caseload of civil and criminal law based claims.
Role Overview
You will join an existing team which focusses on reviewing BTE claims relating to the both civil and criminal claims. Dealing with claims from commercial clients you will consider the file submitted on each case, then gather and consider the adequacy of documentation to validate cover under the terms of the policy. If the claim progresses you will be responsible for liaising with solicitors, brokers and clients throughout the course of the claim.
The role will require familiarity with legal files, litigation processes and being able to interpret legal documents.
Claims include but are not limited to interviews under caution, professional discipline, inquests, contract disputes and property disputes.
Candidate Profile
- The ideal candidate will have some prior experience working in a legal or insurance claims setting.
- A knowledge of civil procedure and experience working within the legal sector.
- This is an urgent requirement so you will need to be immediately available or on short notice.
- The role is based in south London and is predominantly office based with one day a week working from home.
What’s on Offer
- This is a contract role scheduled to last for 9 months but maybe longer depending on claims volumes.
- Salary is c£30000 + holiday pay.
- There is also the opportunity to gain good experience within an in-house insurance claims team on litigation work and an insight into both insurance and legal sector work.
