Financial Controller – 1st Move Practice
We are supporting a profitable and privately owned SME in York offering the opportunity for a qualified practice accountant to step into their first Financial Controller role.
The business will soon surpass the audit threshold and they are looking to appoint strong leadership within the finance department, this role will sit under the newly appointed part time finance director with the potential to progress into an FD role in 3 – 5 years’ time.
This will be a site based role, which we feel will suit a qualified accountant looking to establish themselves within a growing and profitable organisation.
Key outcomes and requirements:
- Oversee the production of month end accounts.
- Provide the directors with weekly and monthly cashflow forecasts.
- Monthly KPI production and reporting
- Provide the FD with support on costing models and budget creation.
- Working with the senior management team to ensure robust financial processes.
- Management of assets and capex proposals
- Dealing with key stakeholders both internally and externally including directors, department heads, banks, and external accountants
- Manage and mentor the existing transactional finance team of three.
About you:
- A Qualified Accountant

Salary and benefits:
- £40,000 – £50,000
- 23 days annual leave + bank holidays
