Financial Controller
We are working with a successful and growing construction group based in Leeds, which is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to strengthen and develop its finance function. The role reports to the Financial Director.
This is a broad, hands-on role offering the opportunity to take ownership of financial reporting, controls and processes within a growing business. It will suit a technically strong accountant, potentially someone who has trained in practice before moving into industry.
The Role
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Group reporting and consolidation across multiple entities
- Cash flow forecasting and management
- Preparation of Board reports and financial analysis
- Budgeting, forecasting and business planning
- Management of year-end accounts and audit processes
- VAT, PAYE and CIS returns
- Supporting lender and external stakeholder relationships
- Improving financial controls, processes and reporting
- Identifying opportunities to automate and improve the efficiency of the finance function
- Developing KPI reporting and providing commercial insight to senior management
- Supporting the wider finance team with day-to-day accounting where required
About You
- Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
- Experience of working across multiple entities would be beneficial
- Good understanding of controls, processes and financial systems
- Strong Excel and IT skills
- Commercially minded with excellent attention to detail
- A hands-on individual who is happy to get involved in the detail
