Company Accountant
A Company Accountant is sought for an SME business based in North Yorkshire on a full or part-time basis.
The Company Accountant will work in tandem with one other to lead a small finance team and provide accurate financial information to the company’s directors.
The ideal candidate will have worked in an SME environment; we are open to either qualified or qualified by experience applicants.
Main duties of the role
- Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts for the business, providing valuable insights to aid decision-making processes
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data, adhering to relevant accounting standards
- Oversee the production of accruals and prepayments, ensuring that financial records accurately reflect the financial position of the company
- Conduct in-depth bank reconciliation work, meticulously verifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Regularly review accounts receivable, monitoring outstanding invoices and coordinating with relevant departments to ensure prompt payment and resolution of any issues
- Maintain the fixed asset register, including accurate recording of acquisitions and disposals
- Perform depreciation calculations in accordance with accounting policies
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and timely submission to relevant authorities
- Act as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including banks, external accountants, and the Managing Director
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to address financial queries and provide necessary information
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000
This role will be 100% office-based at our client’s premises in North Yorkshire.
