Bookkeeper
A growing sports busines is seeking a Bookkeeper or Accounts Assistant to provide maternity cover within its finance team. The role will be for an initial 6 month period.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and has a solid grounding in bookkeeping and credit control.
The Role
The successful candidate will take responsibility for maintaining accurate financial records, processing daily accounting transactions, and managing the company’s debtor position to ensure timely client payments and strong cashflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and process day-to-day accounting transactions
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including raising and sending invoices
- Oversee the debtors ledger – monitoring aged debtors, following up on overdue accounts, and liaising with internal teams and clients to resolve issues promptly
- Complete bank reconciliations, journal entries, and supplier payments
- Support month-end reporting, reconciliations, and VAT returns
- Assist with payroll and expense management
- Prepare debtor reports and cashflow updates for management
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Accounts Assistant
- Strong credit control and debtor management experience
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to work independently
- Confident communicator able to build positive relationships with clients and internal teams
- The company uses Xero software
