Assistant Accountant
An opportunity has become available for an Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team on an immediate start basis. This would suit someone with a good grounding in purchase ledger or transactional finance who is looking for a broader role and the opportunity to develop their month-end accounting experience.
Working across multiple group companies, you’ll take responsibility for key purchase ledger activities while working closely with the Finance Managers and supporting them with balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and other month-end tasks.
The role will include:
- Processing supplier invoices and maintaining accurate purchase ledger records
- Preparing and processing supplier payment runs
- Monitoring invoice approvals and resolving outstanding queries
- Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies
- Liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Supporting bank and control account reconciliations
- Assisting the Finance Managers with balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting accruals, prepayments and month-end journals
- Assisting with wider month-end reporting as your experience develops
- Supporting finance process and systems improvements
- Providing general support across the wider finance team
You may be:
- An experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk looking to broaden your responsibilities
- An Accounts Assistant looking for greater exposure to month end
- An AAT studier or someone looking to begin ACCA or CIMA
- Already working as an Assistant Accountant and looking for a role with further development
You don’t need to be an experienced management accountant. A solid grounding in transactional finance, good attention to detail and a willingness to develop your accounting experience are more important.
Salary & Benefits:
- Up to £35,000, depending on experience
- Immediate start available
- Permanent position
- 35-hour working week
