BI Analyst
London (Hybrid) | Up to £65,000 + Benefits
We’re working with a well-established specialist insurer seeking a BI Analyst to join their growing Data & Analytics function. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of data, technology, and business stakeholders and is looking to develop their career within a highly regarded insurance organisation.
This role offers exposure to a modern data environment and the chance to work closely with senior business and technology stakeholders to deliver impactful reporting and analytics solutions.
The Role:
As a BI Analyst, you’ll be responsible for understanding business requirements, translating them into data and reporting solutions, and supporting the delivery of key data initiatives across the organisation.
Initially, you’ll work closely with product and data leadership teams, gaining a deep understanding of the business and its data landscape. Over time, the position will evolve into a broader data-focused business analysis role with significant stakeholder engagement and progression opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather, analyse, and document business and reporting requirements.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand information needs and decision-making processes.
- Support the delivery of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence projects.
- Work with technical teams to understand data sources, data models, and data flows.
- Assist in the design and development of Power BI reporting solutions.
- Support testing, validation, and data quality activities.
- Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting and analytics capabilities.
Essential Requirements
Please note: Previous Lloyd’s Market insurance experience is an absolute requirement for this role. Unfortunately, candidates without Lloyd’s Market experience cannot be considered.
We’re keen to speak with candidates who have:
- Proven experience working within the Lloyd’s Market insurance sector.
- Experience in a BI Analyst, Data Analyst, or Data-focused Business Analyst role.
- Experience supporting Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence projects.
- Strong Power BI reporting and visualisation experience.
- Good understanding of Data Warehousing and Data Lakes.
- Hands-on SQL skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- LM1 qualification or a willingness to undertake it would be highly advantageous.
