Business Analyst
Senior Business Analyst – London Market Insurance
London (Hybrid)
Permanent – up to £90,000 DOE
We are working with a leading London Market insurer on a key strategic transformation programme and are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Business Analyst to play a pivotal role in its delivery.
This is a high-impact position sitting within a central Business Transformation function, reporting into the Head of Business Analysis & Testing. You will work at the heart of a major initiative focused on modernising underwriting capabilities and driving forward operational efficiency across the business.
The Role
You will lead business analysis activity across the full project lifecycle, partnering closely with underwriting and operational stakeholders to shape future-state capabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading end-to-end business analysis across a large-scale transformation programme
- Engaging directly with Underwriters and senior stakeholders to understand workflows, challenges, and strategic goals
- Eliciting, analysing, and documenting complex business requirements with full traceability
- Collaborating with testing teams to ensure requirements are clear, structured, and testable
- Defining and shaping target operating models aligned to future business capabilities
- Facilitating workshops with senior stakeholders across underwriting and operations
- Translating London Market processes (placement, binding, endorsements, renewals, delegated authority) into system and data requirements
- Working closely with technology and architecture teams to ensure alignment with broader enterprise strategy
- Supporting vendor engagement, selection, and implementation where required
- Driving process optimisation, automation opportunities, and data quality improvements
- Ensuring regulatory and market standards (including Lloyd’s and market messaging) are embedded in solutions
- Mentoring and supporting junior Business Analysts
About You
You will be an experienced Business Analyst with a strong track record of delivering change within the London Market insurance space.
Key experience and skills:
- Significant experience as a Business Analyst within London Market insurance (ideally within a managing agent environment)
- Strong understanding of underwriting processes across the full policy lifecycle
- Experience working on underwriting platforms or core system transformation programmes
- Deep knowledge of the London Market ecosystem (Lloyd’s, brokers, delegated authority, bordereaux, PPL, messaging standards)
- Proven ability to deliver large-scale change initiatives in complex environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working directly with senior Underwriters
- Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, or Lucidchart
- Knowledge of process modelling techniques (BPMN/UML)
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills
- Ability to operate at both strategic and detailed levels in a fast-paced transformation environment
