Senior Political Violence and Terrorism Underwriter
A leading specialty (re)insurer is seeking a dynamic and established Senior Underwriter to step into a high-impact role within its Political Violence & Terrorism (PV&T) team.
This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a truly global open market book — spanning 60+ territories — built on a strong foundation with ambitious growth plans. The successful candidate will join an experienced, high-performing team and play a key role in driving underwriting performance, strengthening broker relationships, and positioning the portfolio as a lead market.
The Role:
- Senior Underwriter working closely with the Class Manager to grow and develop the open market PV&T portfolio.
- Global remit with focus on the US, UK, LATAM, MENA, and South Africa.
- Key contributor to strategy, leadership, and mentoring – acting as a de facto deputy to the team.
- Leverage market-leading data and analytics to make informed decisions and stay ahead of geopolitical trends.
- Client-facing role with occasional international travel.
- Involvement in business planning and outwards reinsurance placement.
Ideal Candidate:
- A best-in-class Senior Underwriter in Political Violence & Terrorism, with strong broker relationships.
- Commercially astute and strategic, not just technically sound.
